So, this post will be somewhat of a continuing to “Pivot, Don’t Panic” or “Don’t Panic, Pivot” (tomato, tomatoe). Yes, I have lots of experience in the field of HR, and plethora of other things. But the way this job market is set up, some things are not hitting like they should. Sometimes, pivoting is getting out of your own way, and so I did.

So, sometime almost 2 weeks ago, I was a little frustrated because it was job rejection after job rejection through emails. I sat on my couch drinking some tea and said a light prayer. I heard a voice say, “Adult or Lingerie store.” Now mind you, I worked at the mega store in Vegas. Guaranteed 40 hours a week, but no benefits and some of the people that came in….chile….I’ve seen a pimp slap his h+e before to go get condoms. 🤦🏾‍♀️

So, I said to myself, “Ok” on the couch and went on Google. I noticed some other stores, including Hustler Hollywood in Charlotte. I made a call and THEY ARE HIRING! I was told to call in the morning and talk to the hiring manager. I was able to reach her and she wanted to meet me the same day, but I had a cuddle client I had to commute to. So, the days pass, and snow hits the Carolinas. Most of us are stuck at home, lethargic, and tired. I am still hopeful to hear back, so I call and check in. The hiring manager was snowed in at her house. Someone close to me told me the hiring manager was b.s.’ing me or “capping.” I could have gotten discouraged, because that same week, someone wanted to offer me a sales job….NOPE! And I got another job rejection from another company.

I kept the faith though. I arrived to the interview last week and hired on the spot! Thank God for jobs that don’t solely rely on “Skynet” or A.I.

I start this week and relieved! 👏🏾

I am tired of always being in the house and am currently weening off of a controlling relationship. Controlling men do not want you working, trust me. It’s time for freedom. I need some action, some movement, and something to do while working on my new cuddle client profile. I’m ready to get that back rolling.

I’m officially a “Hustler.” 😉
