Even though I've been a mom for almost 3 years...OMG people...it is still work. It seems like my daughter was easier to deal with as a newborn than as a toddler. She wants to get into everything and because she's a Gemini (God bless her heart), she is very curious. I love her intelligence and how sharp she is, but, man, oh, man....she's off the chain! It's Peppa Pig one minute and then the "Gummy Bear Song."
I want to encourage the mothers out there to NEVER GIVE UP ON YOUR FAMILY and PUT THEM FIRST, above all else (except yourself, of course). I say this because we have different tasks and responsibilities that come our way and we have to make sound decisions with those matters. I will have another post regarding this subject. I chose my daughter first, which has lead me to new career changes and moves.
If you work on a job that doesn't support work/life balance....LEAVE as soon as you can. There are plenty of jobs that provide flexibility, or look for a new career path (the journey I'm on as well). While I'm figuring out other things that I can do, I just pray and ask for guidance along the way, and also go with the flow of things. That was the worst thing for me to do. I hated going with the flow. I wanted to be in control of everything and since I've been on this journey, God and the universe has put me in the backseat and NO, I can't be the backseat driver. With that being said, my patience has increased and I've learned how to stay calm when negative situations arise.
It's all a process ladies and gentleman, but back to what I said....love your kid(s), cherish them, because time doesn't wait for no man or women even though it's said to be an illusion. Before you know it, they will be graduating high school. Enjoy these moments, even when the house is a mess and their room is covered with clothes and Cheetos.
Please check out my blog "Mutiple Streams of Coint" and I would love to hear your comments and thoughts regarding motherhood and balancing a career, while maintaining self-care.
