You have the right to simply say NO, but also know your worth as a job seeker and professional. Basically, I’m good enough to work only in sales, which isn’t my field, but left and right rejections for W-2 jobs in my field? Something is wrong! 🚫❌🚫

I just got off of an orientation and sat in a whole hour meeting about a role that did not meet the salary expectations. $60k a year (which was listed on the job description) versus performance based aka SALES are two different things. The hours were not convenient, which would cause work/life balance issues (45-50 hours a week; M-F and Saturday) and top of that, $0 pay unless you make a sale. On top of that, the commute, having to shop for more professional business attire, and being outside door-to-door in the brutal cold. Nope!

They are glad they don’t get reported regarding false advertisement. The salary in the job description is straight cap and bait 🎣.

Setting boundaries during a job search protects your mental health, time, and professional reputation. One main key strategy can include defining non-negotiable criteria, such as salary expectations, which is what I experienced today. I can’t survive off of sales and be gone 8-10 hours a day with the possibiiity of making $0.

At the end of the day, please treat the search as a two-way street where you vet companies as much as they vet you. Again, know your worth and continue to stay optimistic with this job search. ✨

P.S. Your girl is using her HR skills and going right to the labor board (DOL) to file a complaint. I was going to let it go, but I can’t. People can’t be set up due to false expectations. They have to take care of themselves and some have families. That’s my due diligence and justice. I’ll make sure another person is not in that mess regarding employment and pay.

This is why I believe in the spirit of entrepreneurship. The 9-5 is cool, but make money eventually while someone else does the work for you. It’s time to gain our time back. I AM reclaiming my time ⏰.

With that being said….
